Arsenal triumphed in the North London derby against Tottenham 4-1 as Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres shone with 2 goals each, and Mikel Arteta’s side has a 5-point lead at the top of the EPL again.
The Gunners, who came into today’s derby under huge pressure after losing 2-goal lead against last-placed Wolverhampton and drawing 2-2 a few days ago, showed a different face today and had no problem beating Tottenham.
Eze scored the opening goal in the match, but Tottenham equalised only seconds later after Declan Rice’s mistake led to Randal Kolo Muani’s goal.
However, the Gunners were the better side on the pitch, and they showed that in the 2nd half when Gyokeres restored their lead at the beginning. Soon after that, Eze scored his 2nd goal in the match and 5th against Spurs this season before Gyokeres also scored again in the extra time of the match.
Man City beat Newcastle 2-1 yesterday and cut the Gunners’ lead to only 2 points, but now Arsenal are leading again with 5 points, and also have played 1 more match in the league than the Sky Blues, and the fight for the title will be until the end.
