Everything began perfectly for the Villains as Marc Cucurella scored an own goal after only 4 minutes. Morgan Rogers doubled the home team lead in the 42nd minute after Matty Cash’s assist and it seemed like Aston Villa secured the 3 points.
However, Chelsea played a lot better in the 2nd half and Noni Madueke made the Blues trail only 1 goal in the 62nd minute. Noni Madueke provided the assist to Conor Gallagher in the 81st minute who tied the match 2-2.
Axel Disasi netted a header in the 95th minute as Chelsea thought they had won the match, but after a VAR review, the goal was disallowed for a foul, and the clash ended without a winner.
