Atletico Madrid rejects Barca’s bid for Alvarez

Barcelona directors know that inking Atlético Madrid forward Julián Álvarez after the end of the season will not be easy.

Julian is famous for his speed, constant movement, and ability to score, making him the perfect number 9 in the Catalan team system under Hansi Flick.

Barca are open to offering a swap deal and additional money to try to convince Atletico to give them their star. The Catalan giants can offer players like Marc Casado or Ferran Torres for the Argentinian goalscorer.

However, Atletico Madrid informed Barca that they will not let Alvarez leave, even with footballers included, for less than 100 million euros.

This can be a huge problem for Barcelona as they are still struggling with their finances, and offering such a sum will be a huge problem for them unless they sell a few players from their current squad.

A swap deal will be the perfect solution for the Catalan team, but with Atletico’s unwillingness to such a deal, transfer of Alvarez to Barca in the summer seems unlikely at the moment.
