Damian Lillard is still a hot topic as to where his future lies after the 33-year-old requested a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers.
Many believe that Lillard is bound to sign with Miami, but not all are impressed with the point guard’s decision.
Austin Rivers is one of those names, calling Lillard’s trade request in his recent podcast “bad for the league”.
“If you’re a free agent then you can choose where you’re gonna go. That’s the business. But when you’re not and you sign a deal … that’s part of the business. If you get traded somewhere, you gotta go play,” said Rivers.
Despite that Rivers praised Lillard’s game, stating he is one of the toughest opponents he ever faced.
Lillard’s contract expires at the end of 2024-25 season after he signed a two-year extension last summer. It is still unknown whether he will see out his contract.
