The star of the show was undoubtedly Devin Booker, who bagged home 38 points to help his team en route to victory. Kevin Durant added another 25 as the Suns made up for their disappointing loss in Game 1.
The Clippers had their chances as they even found themselves with a commanding 13 point lead halfway through the game.
However Booker’s persistence and Durant elegance turned the game on its head and the Suns prevailed in the end.
“People talk about adjustments all the time and we make them,” Suns coach Monty Williams said.
“But sometimes basketball is just being able to sit down and guard the ball, keep your man from getting to the basket and contesting the shot.”
For Los Angeles Kawhi Leonard scored 31, with Russell Westbrook adding another 28. Despite their efforts, the Clippers could hold off the highly motivated Phoenix squad and inevitably came short.
They will be looking to redeem themselves in Game 3, which is played in their home ground in Los Angeles.
