The French side started strong under new coach Gattuso
Brighton got their historic first point in European tournaments. It happened after a 2-2 draw against Marseille at Stade Velodrome in a Europa League group stage game in round 2.
The Seagulls overcame a two-goal deficit after the hosts scored twice within a minute. First, Chancel Mbemba opened the scoring in the 19th minute, then Jordan Veretout doubled the lead.
In the 54th minute, the English side reduced the deficit through Pascal Gross, and their pressure in the final minutes led to a penalty converted by Joao Pedro.
However, Roberto De Zerbi’s men remain bottom of Group B with one point, while the French club have two points.
