After missing the last 2-plus campaigns with a knee problem, Chicago Bulls player Lonzo Ball has exercised the 21.4 million dollar option on his deal for the upcoming campaign.
The Bulls guard has undergone 3 procedures on his left knee, the most recent a cartilage transplant in the past year. There remains some believe that we will see him play in 2024-25 season, but there are no assurances after the surgeries that he went through that he will be able to compete in the NBA ever again.
Lonzo (26) inked an original 4-year, 80 million dollar contract as part of a sign-and-trade with New Orleans during the offseason in 2021. After a phenomenal beginning with his new team that saw Chicago leading in the East in 2021-22, he averaged 13.0 points, almost 6 boards, over 5 assists, and almost 2 steals before a knee problem 35 matches into the campaign.
He was the 2nd overall selection at the draft in 2017 as the Lakers picked him.
