The Czech Republic edged out Canada 3-2 in the dying second of their clash at the 1/4 finals of the World Junior Championship.

The Czechs started the match strongly as they established an early 2-0 lead after the first period.
Canada, however, struck back and got themselves back into the game in the second period to tie the game.
Despite them being the stronger team, the Czechs refused to crumble and eventually prevailed right at the dead.
It is a huge success for the young squad, which gets the opportunity to win a medal for second consecutive year. It is their third straight advancement into the 1/2 finals.
