The Mexican vows to come back stronger in 2024

Sergio Perez has praised his team Red Bull for confiding their faith in him by offering a contract for 2024, despite his struggles in 2023.

The Mexican started the season strongly, competing neck-and-neck with Max Verstappen, but a dip in form midseason saw him drop significantly off the Dutchman.

Perez still finished second in the Drivers’ Standings, but the distance with his teammate was staggering – a whooping 290 points.

“Obviously we started really strongly the year, then we had a bit of a rollercoaster mid-season,” said Perez. “But we didn’t give up, we stuck together as a team, and I want to thank my whole team for supporting me.

“We went through very tough times, but we managed to secure the best season in the history of our team with the constructors’ title and one-two in the drivers’ championship and we’ve learned from those difficult moments, so we will come back next year stronger.”

Perez knows that he needs to deliver in 2024 if he needs to keep his Red Bull seat for 2025.
