The Boston Celtics advanced to the Eastern Conference finals for the third consecutive year—and the sixth time in the past eight seasons—by defeating the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers 113-98 in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Wednesday night.
Top-seeded Boston won the best-of-seven series 4-1 and will face either the Indiana Pacers or the New York Knicks for the Eastern Conference title. Currently, second-seeded New York leads sixth-seeded Indiana 3-2, with Game 6 set for Friday night in Indianapolis.

The Celtics have maintained an impressive 7-0 record in the playoffs this season when their opponents score fewer than 100 points. This defensive resilience will be crucial as they prepare for their upcoming challenge in the Eastern Conference finals.
