Jayson Tatum was once again sublime as he nestled 29 points and 10 rebounds. Derrick White also shone for the Boston team with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 3 block and was praised by none other than his teammate Tatum.
“We’re so much more of a dynamic team when D-White is asserting himself and being aggressive and not being passive.” the 25-year old said.
Jaylen Brown scored 18 as the Celtics pretty much wrapped up the match in the first half with 64-40 lead.
For the Hawks Dejounte Murray led the way with 29 points. Young added 24, but overall it was a disappointing night for the 24-year old as he shot 9 of 22 from the field and 2 of 8 from beyond the arc. He also had five turnovers, bringing his total to 11 for the series.
“I can be better,” Young admitted. “I didn’t shoot the ball really well. I had some turnovers where I was just driving and it just left my hands. But I’m going to be better at home.”
The Hawks managed to reduce the margin in the second half but ultimately were unable to pose a serious threat to the superior side.
