Chelsea are set to offer Mauricio Pochettino the managerial job by Saturday night as senior figures of both parties are holding a meeting at Los Angeles at that time, according to reports.
The former Tottenham and PSG boss is red-hot favorite to became the Blues next manager as the London team is in desperate search for a new manager for almost a month after sacking Graham Potter in early April.
Pochettino already held talks with Chelsea representatives on Monday and it is believed that they have reached an advanced stage.
The 51-year old is without a job ever since leaving PSG in the summer of 2022 and is eager to get back on the touchline.
If the offer fails then the option in front of Chelsea remain Burnley’s Vincent Kompany and another still unknown name, believed to be in the running.
It is not clear if Chelsea appoint a new manager before season’s end what would the future of interim boss Frank Lampard look.
Lampard was appointed with a contract, expiring at the end of the season, but with the ex-Chelsea player struggling massively, losing all 5 of his first games in charge, scoring only once, it is likely he will be given the sack before the curtains fall on the 2022-23 campaign.
