Chelsea are very close to ink New England Revolution goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic for 18 million dollars.
The Serbian goalkeeper is expected to fly to London for medical tests before the deal for 16 million dollars + 2 million dollars in add-ons is finalized.
The London side expect the new goalkeeper to compete with Robert Sánchez for the place in the starting eleven after Kepa Arrizabalaga left to join Real Madrid on a season-long loan and Edouard Mendy was sold to the Saudi Arabian team Al Ahli.

Djordje played 43 matches for New England as he replaced Matt Turner, who was sold to Arsenal last year before joining Nottingham Forest at the beginning of the month.
The transfer of the Serbian goalkeeper will bring the Blues’ spending to around 434 million dollars – already a record in a summer transfer window by any team in history.
