The Los Angeles team had to dig deep in order to win

The Los Angeles Clippers came out on top in their clash against the depleted Portland Trail Blazers 132-127 on Monday night.

It was a tightly-contested game with both teams having chances, but in the end the Clippers prevailed for their 4th straight win.

Kawhi Leonard scored 34 points, as James Harden added 20 points, 8 assists and 8 rebounds. Paul George notched 20 points, 8 assists and 8 rebounds of his own, while Ivica Zubac added another 18. The Clippers are now 9-3 after overcoming their sluggish start of 6 straight losses.

“The biggest thing is health and finally getting his rhythm with PG and James starting,” Clippers coach Tyronn Lue said.

Anfernee Simons led the way with 38 points for a short-handed Trail Blazers, which was without Deandre Ayton and Malcolm Brogdon.

Shaedon Sharpe added 27 points as Portland fell to 0-8 on the road against the West.

“We played good, man,” Blazers coach and former Clipper Chauncey Billups said. “We just keep scrapping no matter what.”
