Coco Gauff emerged victorious in her 1/4 final match against Jelena Ostapenko in a commanding fashion 6-0, 6-2 on Tuesday.
With the result Gauff becomes the first American teenager to reach the US Open 1/2 final since Serena Williams did so back in 2001.

The 19-year-old is on a roll at the moment, having won 16 out of her last 17 games, with the only loss coming at the first-round in Wimbledon.
Gauff handled the heat and humidity to make light work of Ostapenoa, who seemed a shadow of herself, compared to her marvelous performance, which saw world No.1 Swiatek get eliminated.

The American was the dominant force all along and left her opponent with no chances. A swift first set, where Ostapenko failed to win a game, was followed up by similarly one-sided second, where Gauff gave away only 2 games.
Next up on the road for Gauff is either No.10 Karolina Muchova or No.30 Sorana Kirstea, who play later on Tuesday night.
