The card titled “UFC 4th of July White House event,” is expected to take place in late June as part of the nationwide America 250 celebrations. UFC CEO Dana White revealed the plans revealed his plans earlier this summer and confirmed that fewer than 5,000 people will be in attendance.

“So we went to the White House last week, me and my team, and we had the first meeting with President Trump,” White said. “We laid out all the renderings and we started to get him to sign off on what he likes and doesn’t like, and he loved it. So yeah, now we’re diving in head first. Now all the work starts.”
The limited capacity comes down to both logistics and security. With tensions running high in Washington, D.C., White acknowledged that having a live fight card on the South Lawn will require extreme precautions.
Dana White says there will be under 5,000 people on the lawn of the White House for the UFC event.

“Last time I was at the White House, I went up on the roof of the White House and they got snipers with 50 cals all over the roof of the White House,” White said. “And it’s pretty crazy. Yes, the security is gonna be a massive issue. Because at the end of the day, Secret Service’s job is to protect the president. And I don’t know how it’s gonna work out as far as having people there live on the lawn of the White House. It’ll be under 5000 though.”
