David Silva has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 37.

The Spaniard enjoyed an elusive career Valencia, Manchester City and Real Sociedad, establishing himself as one of the deadliest attacking midfielders in his time.
Silva enjoyed a tremendous success at City, during his 10-year spell from 2010 to 2020, when he won 4 Premier League titles, 2 FA Cups and 6 League Cups.

Recently, the 37-year-old suffered a heavy knee injury, which contributed to his decision on retirement after 19 years of playing football.
“Today is a sad day for me,” Silva said on social media.
“Today it is time to say goodbye to what I have dedicated my whole life to. Today it is time to say goodbye to my colleagues, who are like family to me. I will miss you very much.”
Silva enjoyed a trophy-laden spell with the Spain national team, winning 2 Euros in(2008,2012) and the World Cup in 2010.
