The Denver Broncos continued with the radical changes, and today, they told safety Justin Simmons that he would be cut.

Justin, who was the franchise’ 3rd-round selection at the 2016 NFL Draft, was the Broncos’ longest-tenured footballer. And the safety, who was 1 of the most active footballers in the community during his time there, was often the public face of the roster, during good and bad periods, during the current 8-year postseason drought.
“Justin Simmons‘ role as player of our team extends far beyond his exceptional role on the field during 8 campaigns with Denver Broncos,” the franchise shared. “In addition to growing into an All-Pro and Denver captain, he became our perennial Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, devoted to making others life easier and using his influence to do good things outside the field.”
Denver, who shared at the beginning of the week that they will cut QB Russell Wilson, are in a salary cap bind. Justin’s cut will put a record 85 million dollar dead money charge on the team’s books over the next 2 campaigns.
He’s one of the best safeties in the legaue, but when most people talk about Justin Simmons, they usually start by talking about the kind of person he is. He will be thoroughly missed by #BroncosCountry pic.twitter.com/JpyjRwODdD
