The world No. 1 defeated Andrey Rublev 2-1 to square up Dimitrov clash for the title

Novak Djokovic reached the Paris Masters final after beating Andrey Rublev 2-1 sets 5:7; 7:6(3); 7:5. He will face Grigor Dimitrov in the Sunday final and will have to recover quickly as the Bulgarian won his 1/2-final against Stefanos Tsitsipas earlier on Saturday.

The first set was neck-in-neck for both players after both of them exchanged one break at the very start. The set was looking like going into a tiebreak, but at 6-5 and Djokovic serve Rublev got another break to cling it 7-5.

The second set was looking hard for Djokovic, but he managed to reach the tiebreak where was much better than his opponent in the crucial points and won it 7-3.


During the break between the sets the world No.1 called for a medical time-out and the physio helped him on court. After the restart nothing changed and both players were fighting hard, serving excellent on their games and having trouble finding an opportunity to break. In the 11th, Djokovic leading 6-5 Rublev got to a critical moment, trailing 15-40 and lost by a double fault.
