Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has refused to engage in any discussions over the emergence of a new contract, two days after his team suffered a dramatic 38-35 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl LVII in Arizona.

‘The thing that I’m most focused on is winning and ultimately winning a championship,’ Hurts told reporters on Tuesday.
“There will be a day where that conversation can be had, but today isn’t that day.”
He also set a new Super Bowl record for quarterback rushing yards by running for 70 and three scores.
The main question the Eagles had coming into the season was answered by Hurts’ emergence as an MVP finalist and bona fide star field general.
Hurts’ contract expires at the end of the 2023 season and the organization has signaled it’s ready to talk about a long-term deal.
The Eagles can’t activate a fifth-year option in Hurts’ current four-year deal due to his low ranking in the 2020 draft, as the quarterback only came into the league as a second-round pick.
Philly’s star man will rather enter the final year of his $6.025million contract and is stated to be making a base salary of a little more than $4.3million next season, with bonuses totaling nearly $600,000.
