Chandler Stephenson notched the go-ahead goal, Adin Hill made 30 saves, and the Vegas Golden Knights ended the Edmonton Oilers’ 16-match winning streak with a 3-1 triumph.
Oilers tried to tie the 1992-93 Pittsburgh Penguins for the longest National Hockey League win streak.

Instead, with the match tied 1-1 after 2 periods, Stephenson received a pass from Jonathan Marchessault and hit to beat Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner to put Vegas in front by a goal with less than 2 minutes on the clock in the 3rd period.
From there, Adin kept his team’s lead spectacularly, with the supporters helping the Golen Knights from the stands until the end.
“We’re disappointed that we lost tonight. It’s been a while since we’ve done that. You forget sometimes how much you hate losing.”

“I loved a lot of the parts of how we played,” Oilers captain Connor McDavid, who notched in the defeat, admitted. “I believe it was a similar type of game that we’ve played throughout the winning period. We didn’t find a way to triumph. Their goaltender had an impressive match, and saved phenomenal shots.”
