Welterweight champ Leon Edwards will try to defend his title for a 3rd time vs. Belal Muhammad in the main event of UFC 304 at the end of July at Co-op Live arena. In the co-main event, Tom Aspinall will his interim heavyweight belt vs. Curtis Blaydes in a rematch of a fight that happened 2 years ago in London.
UFC CEO Dana White shared the pair of bouts today. Leon and Belal both fight out of England. Leon has defended his belt once in the country vs. Kamaru Usman in the past year.
Edwards (22-3) has been high in the list of pound-for-pound in the organization. Leon secured the belt two years ago when he defeated Usman in the final round of a 5-round bout in Salt Lake City. Leon’s last bout was a decision victory against = Colby Covington at the end of last year.
