Chelsea’s misery in the Premier League this season continues as the Blues lost 0-2 away to Everton in their Round 16 clash. The London side is now just six points away from relegation as they’ve picked up 4 points from their last five games.
Chelsea got off to a flying start and naturally came up with the first dangerous opportunity in front of Jordan Pickford in the 14th minute when Cole Palmer opened up space to shoot into the top right corner, but the Everton keeper made a phenomenal save.
In the 54th minute, McNeill started a counter-attacked for Everton and sent Dominic Calvert-Lewin behind the Chelsea’s defence. The Toffees’ striker shot from a clear position, but straight into the body of Sanchez. Abdoulaye Doukoure was in the right place, though, and sent the ball into the bottom right corner to give his team the lead.
In the second minute of stoppage time following James Garner’s corner kick, Djorje Petrovic failed to box the ball to the best of his ability and Lewis Dobbin tapped in from the edge of the box to score his side’s second goal.

This success saw Everton move away from the relegation zone with 13 points to their name, despite having 10 taken from them earlier in the season. It was Everton’s sixth win in eight games, including three points taken against West Ham, Manchester United and Newcastle.
Chelsea, on the other hand, fell to 11th position in the standings with 19 points in their assets.
