Rio Ferdinand has talked harshly about Portugal manager Jorge Jesus, accusing him of showing a lack of respect toward Cristiano Ronaldo. The ex-Red Devils defender thinks the Al Nassr captain has been treated in an “inappropriate” manner during the current international break.
Cristiano left the national team camp early after drama with the head coach. What made Ronaldo mad was when he was instructed to warm up so he could play the last 30 minutes against Norway.
However, Jorge didn’t let Cristiano play and later said he decided at the last moment because of tactical changes. Ronaldo expected an apology at that news conference, but the Portuguese boss didn’t say anything like that.
“Cristiano Ronaldo was treated unfairly, as he is one of the best in the history of this game. Jorge Jesus didn’t deal with him well and chose to treat him like that without any logic, in my opinion. Maybe he believes he is Ferguson or Guardiola,” claimed Ferdinand.
Rio added that he doesn’t know why Jorge thinks he is among the great head coaches and that he should have shown the Portuguese superstar the respect he deserved.
🚨 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: Cristiano Ronaldo has now made it clear that he will not return to the National Team as long as Jorge Jesus is still the coach.
