Justin Fields said he’s “definitely competing.. Russ knows that. We’re competing against each other every day.

Several weeks before that, the Chicago Bears informed their ex-1st-round QB that the franchise would move on from him and select a QB with their 1st-round overall selection. Finally, Justin understood that they traded him to the Steelers in exchange for a conditional 6th-round selection.
“We were in the same position in the last offseason with having the number 1 selections, and just things went differently this campaign,” Fields shared today, speaking with reporters for the 1st time since the exchange.
Justin added that he felt relieved after the trade happened and that he wants to be in Pittsburgh and it is a dream come true for him. Fields revealed that he thought that this would not be possible when the organization inked Russell Wilson on the eve of the league’s legal tampering period.
However, Justin also will be part of the Steelers and he must fight for the starting position entering as backup quarterback the upcoming season.
