The Sky Blues defeated the Villains 4-1 at Etihad.

Manchester City won against Aston Villa 4-1 at Etihad Stadium as the Sky Blues avenged the defeat from the same opponent 1-0 when the 2 teams faced each other earlier in the season in Birmingham.

Rodri gave the Sky Blues the lead in the 11th minute when the Spaniard scored after Doku’s assist. However, Jhon Duran tied the result with his goal in the 20th minute.

In the extra time of the 1st half, Phil Foden scored his 1st goal in the match from a freekick as Zaniolo made a huge mistake in the Villa’s wall and the ball went into the away’s team net.

In the 62nd minute, Foden scored his 2nd goal in the match after Rodri’s assist to make his side lead by 2 goals, and 7 minutes later, he completed his hat trick, and this time, Alvarez assisted him.

Manchester City are in 3rd place with 67 points after 30 matches – 1 behind leaders Arsenal and the same number as Liverpool but the Reds have a game in hand as they will face tomorrow Sheffield United at Anfield.

Aston Villa are in 4th place with 59 points after 31 games but the Villains have only 1 victory in their last 4 league matches.
