The Sky Blues head coach, Enzo Maresca, on the criticism of his players celebrating after triumphing at Anfield:
“Criticized for what? We beat Liverpool 3-0 at their stadium; what do you want us to do?
“And even if we won that game with only 1 goal, it still would be the same. We want to win all the matches, and the same is valid for Wednesday’s clash against PSG.”
Despite winning every match since the Community Shield, Manchester City manager claimed that the team still has a lot to improve: “Without a doubt, we need to get better in many things. Both on attack and defense, there are things that need improvement.
“The victory against Liverpool was different from other victories because of what happened during the international break. But for me, the most important thing is my daily work, and then wins come.”
Maresca added that he understands the seriousness of the situation, but despite that, he is completely calm and relaxed, and that he is more stressed about game plans and how he trains his players daily, rather than things that he can’t control.
