The Sky Blues manager Enzo Maresca has launched a fierce defense of the side’s legacy after the bombshell news of their EPL guilty verdict. The boss shares that the trophies won during his time at Man City remain untarnished by off-field drama.
Despite the EPL’s guilty verdict on 114 of 115 charges of financial misconduct, Enzo said the team’s spirit remains high.
“I know why most of you are here, but the only thing I will say is something I already did,” the Italian manager began. “There is a process ongoing, and right now, I completely trust Manchester City. That’s all I can say at the moment.”
Maresca also answered positively to a question about whether he spoke with the Sky Blues owner, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, and said he expects an ultimate win in the case and will speak more about the topic when that happens.
Enzo revealed that his only focus is on the pitch and that he is preparing the team for the crucial game vs. Liverpool this weekend. The Italian said he will do everything possible to shield his players from outside noise during the legal battle.
Manchester City boss Enzo Maresca reacts to the club being found guilty of all charges related to serious breaches of Premier League financial rules by an independent commission.
