He won after Verstappen and Norris.

George Russell shocked everyone and won the Austrian GP against the odds after Max Verstappen and Lando Norris collided, fighting for the 1st place.

The victory is George’s 2nd in his career and Mercedes’ 1st since his last triumph at the 2022 Brazilian GP.

McLaren’s Oscar Piastri finished in the 2nd place, almost 2 seconds behind the winner, ahead of Carlos Sainz who took the last place at the podium.

Max dominated the 1st half of the race, building a lead of 8 seconds ahead of his 2nd pit stop, but a slow tire change allowed Norris to be only 3 seconds behind the Dutch as they returned to the track with 20 laps until the end of the race.

The champion had problems with his car after his last pit stop with his new tyres and by lap 59 of 71 he and Lando were fighting for the win within a second.

On lap 64, Lando tried to overcome Max, and that was when the clash between the 2 bolids happened, which left George Russell with the victory.
