Pep Guardiola has claimed the EPL title fight will be “over” if his team drops points against West Ham United in London.
The Sky Blues are in 2nd place – 7 points behind leaders Arsenal, but with a game in hand – 9 matches remaining compared to the Gunners’ 8. The two contenders also meet in a potentially pivotal game at Etihad on April 19th.
However, the Spaniard is not looking beyond the next game of his club, claiming, “Now it’s West Ham. To win the EPL is the most difficult task in football.”
“We still have a chance, but we know that if we don’t win tomorrow, it will be over.”
The Hammers are battling to stay in the league as they are in the relegation zone with the same number of points as 17th placed Nottingham Forest, but with the worst goal difference.
However, West Ham are in great form lately, and they have been beaten in only 1 of their last 5 games in the EPL.
Pep added that he knows that the Hammers are doing everything possible to win points and avoid relegation, but that the Sky Blues are also desperate.
