James Harden’s third-quarter surge powered the Los Angeles Clippers to a 109-98 victory over the Miami Heat on Monday night, breaking their two-game losing streak. Harden scored 13 of his 26 points during the pivotal quarter and added 11 assists, showcasing his playmaking abilities.
The Clippers, who had not played in five days due to game rescheduling caused by devastating wildfires in the Los Angeles area, honored the community with special “LA Strong” towels distributed to fans.

Norman Powell led the team with 29 points, while Ivica Zubac dominated inside, contributing 21 points and grabbing a season-high 20 rebounds, earning his 25th double-double of the season. Kawhi Leonard, playing limited minutes as part of his recovery plan, added six points and five rebounds in 21 minutes.
For Miami, Tyler Herro led all scorers with 32 points and 11 rebounds, continuing his strong form despite the absence of Bam Adebayo, who missed the game due to lower back pain. Kevin Love, starting in Adebayo’s place, hit three 3-pointers in the first quarter. Rookie Kel’el Ware impressed off the bench with 19 points and a career-high 13 rebounds.
The game turned in the third quarter, where the Clippers outscored the Heat 36-20. Harden and Powell combined for six 3-pointers during that stretch, with Harden scoring eight straight points to tie the game before the Clippers surged ahead for good.
