Huge blow for AC Milan as star midfielder season is probably over

The problems for AC Milan are piling up as is seems like their midfielder Ismael Bennacer picked up a serious injury.

The Algeria international was forced off in the 18th minute in the Champions League semi-final first leg vs Inter on Wednesday. He has a knee injury, and Sky Sport Italia showed in its post-match broadcast that he left the San Siro stadium on crutches.

According to the Italian media, Bennacer will undergo medical examinations today and possibly the club will issue an official statement on his condition, but it is already clear that he will miss this weekend clash against Spezia in Serie A and the return leg with Inter on May 16. Most probably he will be out until the end of the season, as these kind of injuries take at least a month to be fully recovered.

The Algerian footballer has three goals and two assists in 40 appearances in all competitions this season.
