Toronto FC finished a rather disappointing 2-2 draw against Atlanta United on Sunday.
However, bright news ensued for the home side as star striker Lorenzo Insigne returned to fitness and made his first appearance since suffering a groin injury.
The Italian came on from the bench in the second half, entering the field just moments after Machop Chol’s 76th minute goal was canceled out by Servania.
Insigne played a vital role in his team’s late equalizer, which salvaged a point.
“As far as going into the game and still being smart enough and know how to handle certain moments, he can do that,” Toronto sporting director and head coach Bob Bradley said of Insigne impact on the game.
“We need to just get him some time so that it adds up more so that he’s more dynamic and that he’s the full package of what Lorenzo could bring.”
“So we have to keep getting him pushed along in training. We’ll see what next week looks like.”
Toronto face Union next round in their quest to end the four-game winless streak.
