In a statement, the Bees admitted that they are “angered and frustrated” by the abuse that their player suffered and added that’s not the 1st time that this has happened.
“Our team is angered and frustrated to share that Ivan Toney has been subjected to racist abuse on social media again,” Brentford wrote.
“The club has initiated investigations into this vile harassment, which we condemn.
“Unfortunately, this isn’t the 1st time Toney has been the target of such abuse. A similar thing happened 4 weeks ago, leading us to identify who did it, and we reported it to the authorities.
“However, there is nothing happened vs. that individual.”
The Bees also criticized media companies today for the lack of will to overcome the problem and hold the user accountable.
