Jannik Sinner was untouchable in Beijing and captured his 23rd career title to narrow the gap at the top of the ATP Rankings.
The world No. 2 swept aside American Learner Tien 6-2, 6-2 in the China Open final, sealing his third trophy of the season and his second at the prestigious ATP 500 event in China.

The Italian joins an elite group of multiple winners in Beijing, following Michael Chang (three titles), Rafael Nadal (two), and Novak Djokovic (six). For Sinner, the victory continues an extraordinary run on hard courts: he has now reached the final in each of his last nine hard-court tournaments, lifting six titles since his surge began at the 2024 Cincinnati Masters.
By claiming the 500 points, Sinner increased his tally by 170 points to 10,950, having lost in last year’s final to Carlos Alcaraz. The Spaniard remains No. 1 on 11,540 points after defending his Beijing title last week with victory at the Japan Open.
As a result, the gap between the two rivals has closed to just 590 points — and the race could tighten further. Alcaraz has withdrawn from the upcoming Shanghai Masters, meaning he will forfeit the 200 points he earned for reaching the quarter-finals last season.
