The NY Jets still want to trade ex-starting QB Zach Wilson, franchise officials shared today, but the organization’s owner, Woody Johnson, has another plan if a trade doesn’t happen.
“If we don’t trade him, he will remain part of our team,” Woody shared with the media at the National Football League’s league meetings.

The owner, who in February criticized Zach’s performance in the past season, walked back those critics, perhaps because he wants to stimulate interest in the ex-1st-round selection. He labeled Zach “a valuable asset.” Johnson added that he still believes that it would be best for Wilson to play for another team after he didn’t perform well after replacing the injured Aaron Rodgers at the beginning of the campaign.
New York, looking to upgrade the reserve position, inked veteran Tyrod Taylor to a 2-year, 12 million dollar deal. Manager Robert Saleh shared that he is very happy with the new signing because he has an elite locker room presence.
