The NY Jets, who believed they had the QB position locked up for the future when they picked Zach Wilson with the 2nd overall selection in 2021, traded him to the Broncos today.
Based on what New York invested for the quarterback, they got almost nothing back in return – a 6th-round pick (No. 203) in the upcoming National Football League draft as Denver in addition to the quarterback will get a 7th-round selection (No. 256). New York and Denver are splitting the 5.5 million dollar Zach is due this campaign with each franchise covering almost 3 million dollar from his salary.

Former #Jets starting QB and No. 2 pick Zach Wilson is on the move. Sources say he’s being traded to the #Broncos, hoping for a fresh start.

The exchange means that only 1 of 5 QBs picked in the 1st round of the 2021 NFL Draft remains in the organization that drafted him – Trevor Lawrence, who was the 1st selection by the Jaguars. The other 4 – Zach, Lance, Fields, and Jones have all been exchanged.
With Wilson no longer with the Jets, veteran Aaron Rodgers and inked reserve p Tyrod Taylor are the only QBs on the roster.
