The Nerrazzuri defeat city rival Milan 2-1 at San Siro to make the celebrations even sweeter

Inter Milan clinched their 20th Italian title with a momentous victory over arch-rivals AC Milan in the iconic Derby della Madonnina.

Francesco Acerbi found himself unmarked to head in Benjamin Pavard’s flick-on from a corner, giving Inter the lead in a historic showdown.

Marcus Thuram capitalized on a long ball, cutting inside with ample time before slotting their second goal into the bottom corner at the San Siro. England’s Fikayo Tomori briefly revived Milan’s hopes with a close-range header.

However, the match ended in chaos as tempers flared in injury time, resulting in three red cards. Milan’s Theo Hernandez and Inter’s Denzel Dumfries were sent off for their involvement in a brawl, while Inter captain Davide Calabria received a red card for violent conduct, leaving the hosts with nine men.

Inter’s players and coaches stormed the pitch to celebrate at the final whistle, marking a historic moment at the shared ground of both teams.

With the victory, second-placed AC Milan now trail Inter by 17 points with five games remaining in the season.

Despite missed opportunities from Lautaro Martinez and Hakan Calhanoglu’s close attempt, Inter emerged triumphant in a landmark Milan derby, securing their first-ever Serie A title in the rivalry’s 116-year history.
