The Italian is getting less and less playing time after the arrival of record signing Declan Rice and is understandably searching for new prospects in his career.

The 31-year-old was acquired by the Gunners in January initially for back-up to Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey, but he has severely fallen down the pecking order in the squad.

According to reports, the Catalan giants have shown interest in Jorginho as they look to strengthen their midfield following Sergio Busquets and Franck Kessie’s exits in the summer.

Xavi’s seems to be attracted by the praise given to Jorginho by none other than his main rival Declan Rice, who said that he has learnt the most from the 31-year-old in training since joining the Emirates.

“The one who surprised me so much, not surprised because I knew he was such a good player anyway. Playing with him every day in training and seeing how he is because he’s not the biggest is Jorginho.” Rice said.
