Travis Kelce told the Kansas City Chiefs he wanted a pay raise for the 2 campaigns remaining on his deal but understood he was requesting a huge negotiating disadvantage.

The tight end wasn’t going to hold out to get it. Kelce wasn’t even going to threaten a holdout, and Kansas City, after 11 years with him, knew it.
“I’m not a person that sits out,” Travis shared on his own podcast. “I’m not a person that holds out. The most important thing is to be in the building, and Kansas City was well aware of that. So, for the Chiefs to make it happen when they understand that I give my everything to the team, I’m really touched.”
Kansas City a few days ago gave Travis the raise, one that makes him the highest-paid league TE with over 17 million dollars per year over the next 2 campaigns. Originally, he would get 12 million dollars in 2024 and over 16 million dollars in the final year of his contract.
