Mateo Kovacic is on course to leave Chelsea over the summer with alleged interest from Bayern Munich, led by former Blues’ coach Thomas Tuchel, reports suggest.
Kovacic has appeared only 15 times for the London team, who is enduring one of its worst seasons in history, despite heavy investments from new owner Todd Boehly.
The club is in danger of breaching FFP regulation and that’s why it is aiming to release some of its current stars.
The 28-year old is reportedly unhappy with the English side and seems a perfect match for the Bundesliga champions, who are currently trying to strengthen their midfield.
It is well known that Kovacic shares a warm bond with current Bayern manager Tuchel, with whom he lifted the Champions League trophy in 2021, having started in every game up until the 1/4 finals, where he picked up a muscle injury.
