Irving, who was at the center of controversy for posting a link to an anti-Semitic film on Oct. 27 and was banned for at least five games when he failed to apologize after a controversial media session at practice on Nov. 3, finished with 14 points.
Kevin Durant scored 20 of his 26 points in the second half as the Nets pulled away in the fourth quarter to improve to an 8-9 record.
Memphis lost for the third time in four games, battling without Ja Morant (sprained left ankle), who injured himself in Friday’s fourth quarter.
Dillon Brooks scored 31 points for the Grizzlies, John Konchar added 16 while Steven Adams contributed 15 and 10 rebounds.
