The firing comes a day after the team ended the campaign at 73-89. The LA MLB organization didn’t schedule an end-of-the-campaign news conference with GM Perry Minasian immediately after the last match, as the rumors about his job after 3 unsuccessful seasons as manager began.
The franchise announced that the Angels general manager will speak with the media soon.
Los Angeles have declined their option on Nevin’s deal for the upcoming year. Angels will have its 4th head coach in 6 campaigns since Mike Scioscia left, who coached Angels for 19 seasons.
The franchise was ambitious to play at the postseason and landed some players at the trade deadline, but despite that, they didn’t make the playoffs and were out of the picture soon after the transfers as some of the new additions are now on waivers.
