The process of electing a new chief takes around 30 days. His resignation was expedited to avoid clashing with the presidential elections for the RFEF, which will happen at the beginning of next year.
Javier shared on social media that he resigned from his post as La Liga chief a month earlier, so the new elections are to be held as he will be a candidate and try to win the presidential position for a 4th time. He added that he will seek the endorsement and trust of the teams.
