Robert Lewandowski doesn’t mind taking a pay cut to continue his career at Barca as he begins the twilight of his career. Despite huge interest from the USA and the Middle East for the striker, he wants to continue to live in Catalonia and wants a deal extension with the club.
The Polish forward has already told the club’s chiefs that he wants to sign a new contract and remain at Camp Nou, and that he understands he would need to take a significant pay cut for that to happen.
Teams from the MLS and the Saudi Pro League are willing to offer Lewandowski a significant salary if he decides to sign for them as a free agent in the summer, but for Robert, the most important thing is his family, who love life in Catalonia.
While formal deal talks were put on hold during the electoral celebrations, Lewandowski’s agent is expected to start them again with the sporting director of the Catalan giants, Deco, after Joan Laporta won the elections and will continue to serve as the president of the club.
❓ Contract renewal for Robert Lewandowski?
🚨 Joan Laporta: The idea is for Deco to renew his contract. He deserves it. He joined us from Bayern Munich under very challenging circumstances. I remember presenting him in Miami.
