Liverpool and Chelsea are keeping track of Victor Osimhen’s contract situation and will be looking for a potential move should the negotiations fail.
The Nigerian’s contract runs until 2025, but reports suggest that the new negotiations have stalled amidst difficult relationship between the player and the club in general.
Osimhen enjoyed a phenomenal campaign in 2022-23, leading Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years with 26 goals in 32 appearances. Since then his name has been linked with numerous top tier European clubs.
It was revealed that Liverpool send scouts to watch the Nigerian during the international break, while reports have suggested that Chelsea have done the same.
“I have never not been calm when it comes to Osimhen, but it takes two to tango,” Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis he said. “I remain the same, if his mood has changed, then there’s not much I can do about that. If after a handshake things change, that is disappointing, we take it into account, but life goes on.
