Liverpool defeat Chelsea 4-1 at Anfield after dominant 1st half

The Reds played phenomenally in the 1st 45 minutes.

Liverpool won against Chelsea 4-1 at Anfield in the 1st Premier League match of the team since Jurgen Klopp announced that he would leave the team at the end of the season.

The Reds dominated in the 1st half, as they scored twice and even missed a penalty. Diogo Jota scored the 1st goal in the match in the 23rd minute after Conor Bradley’s assist as the young defender doubled to lead himself in the 39th minute.

Klopp’s side received a penalty after a foul against Jota, but Darwin Nunez missed it in the extra time of the 1st half.

However, the 2nd half continued with Liverpool’s dominance, and they made it 3-0 in the 65th minute when Dominik Szoboszlai netted after Conor Bradley’s second assist today.

After his phenomenal performance today, Bradley was replaced in the 69th minute by Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Christopher Nkunku made it 3-1 in the 71st minute after Carney Chukwuemeka’s assist. However, Luis Diaz decided everything with his goal for 4-1 in the 79th minute.

Liverpool are in 1st place in the Premier League with 51 points after 22 games as that was the Reds 4th consecutive win in the league.

Chelsea are 10th in the league with 31 points after 22 matches as the Blues ended a 3-game winning series with the defeat at Anfield today.
