Liverpool edge past Derby County on penalties in Carabao Cup

Caoimhim Kelleher saved three penalties as holders Liverpool squeezed past Derby County 3-2 on penalties to advance to the Carabao Cup’s fourth round on Wednessday after a goalless 90 minutes.

With the Reds making 11 changes to the team that beat Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier league 2-1 on Sunday, it was always unlikely to be a high-class encounter.
