Liverpool have emerged in pole position for signing Brighton’s midfielder Alexis Mac Allister after his teammates stated that he is destined to arrive at Anfield, reports say.
The 24-year old has enjoyed a remarkable season both on the international stage and on club level, helping Argentina lift the World Cup trophy in 2022 and also establishing himself as one of the key figures in Brighton’s hunt for an European football.
His forma has raised question where does his future lie and many big club names have shown ambition to lure him at their side.
It is believed that members of the team have openly discussed the 24-year old future, linking him with a move to Anfield in the summer.
Liverpool are keen to bolster their midfield, after dropping out of the race for Borussia’s Jude Bellingham and after veteran James Milner is set to leave as a free agent over the summer.
Mac Allister’s contract expires in 2025 and has an option for extension and if some club is willing to sign him then they will have to splash out a significant sum of money.
