Croatian midfielder Luka Modric will extend his contract with Real Madrid next week, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.
Modric is expected to sign a new one-year contract. The 37-year-old Croatian’s current contract with the Spanish giants expires on June 30.
“The extension of Luka Modric’s contract is a matter of days. It will be announced after the first semi-final of the Champions League against Manchester City, which will be played on Tuesday. The management of Real has assured the Croatian not to worry. Modric and the president of Madrid Florentino Peres have already spoken”, “Marca” reports.
Luka Modric was signed by Real Madrid in 2012 from English Tottenham for 35 million euros. The Croatian made 480 appearances for Real in which he recorded 37 goals and 77 assists and won Ballon d’Or trophy in 2018.
